Leeton AD

The 2026  Multiclass Nationals  - Standard, 15m, 18m and Open Class  -  will be held in Leeton and hosted by the Murray Valley Soaring Club. Leeton has been hosting the Skyrace event over the past five years and the area is renowned for great soaring conditions and tasking area.

Leeton is a busy town with some great food outlets and restaurants along with varied styles of accommodation which will assist pilot’s budgets.

The event will be held from the 6th through to the 16th of January, with the practice days being the 6th and 7th and the final dinner and presentations on the 16th. This timing allows two days for travel at the end of the event for pilots who require it.

We hope to be using the DHT ( Distance Handicap Tasking ) for this event. Please see the link below which will provide some information on how this tasking method will work. This will be used during the VIC, NSW and possibly the QLD state competitions this season. This initiative is really focused on providing better opportunity for the lower performing gliders in their respective classes by making the tasking much fairer for all pilots.

We’d like to think you don’t have to an LS8 to compete in Standard class with this tasking method, so dust off those D1’s and LS4’S etc. The same could be said for the older 15mtr class gliders, this tasking option would also suit the LS6’s, Ventus 1’s, ASW 20’S etc.

The team are not hosting Skyrace this year, so this event could fill the gap nicely.
